Holiday Prep
I’m quite into my beauty treatments and this 5 pronged plan will get you looking holiday ready in no time.
1. Mani/Pedi: I tend to go for a Shellac mani/pedi at the Nail Gallery on New King’s Road which can last up to 2 weeks (4 weeks for the pedi) but if you want the best ‘regular’ pedi of your life, go to Marcella’s off Kensington Church Street - unbelievable...
Zingy Asian Tuna
I got out of the tube this evening and I was hot, bothered and starving. On the train, I decided I wanted tuna so I headed to Waitrose and bought a big tuna steak and a herby salad. I wanted to keep the flavours clean and refreshing.
Cooking the tuna is simple. Brush with a tiny bit of olive oil and season well with salt and lots of cracked black pepper (which you need to pat in so it sticks)....

HIYA
I wanted to say hello because I haven’t been very blog based in the past two weeks. It was my sister’s wedding last weekend so diets, sunbedding, fake tanning (with consequent allergic reaction) and general sisterly support all took priority. And it was all so worth it - what a wonderful day. Paul Merrett at The Victoria cooked the incredible food and it had FINALLY stopped raining.

TV Dinner
I wasn’t planning on posting this but Frank insisted I did (so explaining the half eaten picture). It’s an easy and cheap dinner that anyone can rustle up the energy to make after work. Using the Tilda microwavable rice is a life saver - cooking rice can be such a pain sometimes. The thing to do is get the oven on the second you get home and the butternut squash roasting - once...
Turkey Broth
It was my sister’s hen party on Saturday night and after drinking far too many popping candy shots at Lucky Voice, I definitely didn’t feel well enough to do the weekly food shop on Sunday. Internet shopping seemed like the only solution and armed with my first time buyer voucher for Ocado, I eagerly starting ordering. An hour later, I was finally done. It seems that no matter whether...
Nobu Dressing
If you decide to make anything tonight (I can’t quite be bothered and am settling for a baked potato and an episode of Morse), make this incredible Nobu Matsuhisa Dressing. My boss introduced it to me a couple of years ago and it is the most delicious thing.
Impress your friends and dress a herby green salad with it at a dinner party.
Ingredients
3/4 cup finely chopped Maui onion (use...
Cake Corner
I’m not a baker - I don’t love sweet things (apart from mille feuille) and would always rather have another serving of curry or a glass of wine instead of a piece of cake. And since I like my savoury food so much, I’ve got to hold back on something. For most dinner parties, I just give my guests a bowl of raspberries with a GU chocolate brownie and cream. In contrast, my sister...
Merchant Gourmet
I bought these Merchant Gourment Ready to Eat Beluga Lentils today as they were on offer in Waitrose - 2 for £2.50. They are the perfect healthy accompaniment for an easy dinner or packed lunch. Half a pack is 185 calories (that’s 5 Weight Watchers points) and since cooked in stock, they are incredibly flavoursome so require hardly any additions. Tonight, I mixed them with some parsley,...
Old Friends
Having your oldest friends over to the new flat you share with your boyfriend is a little nerve racking. But armed with my new Zara Home dusky purple water glasses, water jug (which I later found to have a hole in) and amber tea lights, I was ready to entertain. I’ve known some of these girls for over 17 years and considering I still think they are wonderful, and most tellingly, would still...
